I missed posting yesterday, but we did try some new things for supper! We tried Tofu! It has a little different texture and I'm not sure if it is something that I can have every night, but it wasn't bad and something that I can probably get used to. Chance even liked it, not his favorite either, but he ate it. Shaylee, on the other hand, had no part of the whole Tofu thing! She ended up having chicken nuggets and the stir fry vegetables. We also had another new thing...Quinoa. It was pretty good also, the texture is different, but it had a really good taste, minus the too much garlic that I put in it.
Today Shaylee and I had Kashi cereal with blueberries and bananas, and will split a sandwich for lunch.
I'm not sure what we will have for supper, but I have bought some imitation hamburger meat and weenies that we might try for supper with some vegetables. I would really like to try the imitation chicken, but our grocery does not carry it. I am not going to give up meat totally, but I am going to try and limit it to about once or twice a week and serve only lean meats. But I am down for a good steak if we go out to eat somewhere every once in a while too.
Shaylee is feeling better and we worked out in the yard yesterday evening as our exercise. It has been so nice outside the last couple of days and I am hoping it stays this way! Even though we won't be in our house for too much longer, I want to get our yard mowed and nice looking. It looks like a sad place right now! LOL! I am ready for the lake, family fun, and some summer nights!

New Healthy Lifestyle for the O'Daniel Family
So, it has been YEARS since I have posted anything on here, but my family is starting a new healthy lifestyle. I am going to post our progress and even our meals on the blog daily. I am open to new recipes and input, so please feel free to leave any comments. Shaylee's new love of fries has really opened my eyes to how much fast food and junk food that our family eats.Chance and I are doing the DynaMaxx Lifestyle Coach Challenge, today is our second day. So far, I am already feeling some energy that I don't usually have. The DynaMaxx Challenge has so far taught me that we are eating WAY too much processed foods and need to start eating more fresh vegetables and fruits. If you came to look at my freezer you would see a ton of processed meals in bag that I just have to throw in a skillet at night and be done. This is all going to change! To help me with this goal, I have bought the Skinny Bitch books that are all about eating non-processed foods and give recipes to help me through my new challenge. I've also made a commitment for my family to drink more water. Chance and I usually drink some kind of diet cokes and Shaylee will drink juice or milk. I think that all of this will be a huge challenge for us, but I know that we will make it through with the DynaMaxx coaching and also some meal planning and research on my part. Hopefully, Shaylee's new favorite foods will consist of fruits and not fries!! Today, our meals consisted or will consist of the following: (Shaylee had the stomach bug today so this morning she has only had crackers and will have Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch and dinner)
Breakfast:
Chance had Honey Nut Cheerios and I had some Fat-free vanilla yogurt with frest blueberries and a little bit of cinnamon. We also had our DynaMaxx Lights On.
Mid-Morning Snack:
Yogurt Raisins
Lunch:
I'm not sure what Chance is having, but I am going to have a mandarine spinach salad with a vinagarette dressing.
Mid-Afternoon Snack:
I am probably going to skip my snack today as I will be in a meeting.
Dinner:
Veggie stir fry with vegetables and brown rice.
Well, that is day 2 down! Shaylee and I will also be doing Wii Zumba for our exercise today! Can't wait!

A whole month already??
It's been a whole month since my last post! Whew, am I slacking these days?! LOL! Well, I have lost 8 lbs since starting the Best Loser. I haven't really been trying as hard as I should and am guilty of cheating on the weekends, but I guess that I'm still doing okay.
I have a lot of things that has happened and I promise that I will update everyone on everything going on this weekend! Just to give you a short update, I'll run through some things we have been up to lately;
1. Remodeling the house and bathroom
2. Shaylee is doing new things everyday
3. Bon Jovi concert
4. Chance getting ready for pulls this summer
5. Easter
6. More pigs
Like I said, I have a lot of things to give updates on, so there will probably be about 60 new post this weekend with pictures and everything! So yes, I did finally find my camera.
One thing that I have found out is that your brain will never work the same as it did before you were pregnant. I loose things everywhere, forget where I put things, and even put things in crazy places! An example of this, which I did not do, but it's something that I probably would do, is when we were leaving to go to the Bon Jovi concert, my friend, Cassie realized that she had forgot her phone at home. She went back and looked and looked in all the places that she would noramlly leave it and then checked the fridge, and there was here cell phone! LOL! She had gotten in the fridge to get some drinks out and ended up leaving her phone in there! I totally know how she feels and I'm thinking I need some pills or something to fix it.
Dear sweet infant Jesus,
please use your baby Jesus powers to fix my terrible memory.

Busy....Busy....
A week later....
My Joint Commission interview went good and he actually told me that I was doing a good job! Woohoo!! That made my day! It actually wasn't as bad as I was making myself think it was, but I am definitely going to take some of the pointers that he gave me.
I have some more news, and an exciting weekend, but I am going to wait until I have a little bit more time so I can give the full effect.
Hope everyone had a great weekend, back to the hustle and bustle of work.

12 minutes and counting....
until I, for the first time, meet with a Joint Commission Surveyor. My stomach has butterflies and I'm thinking that I may need a cigarette and a beer in about 2 hours! Wooosaaaw! LOL! I just had to update you guys on how nervous I am about my first survey. I've been at work since 6:30 this morning with a 24 oz cup of coffee trying to get myself pumped up and prepped for this interview.
It's really not as a big deal as I am making it out to be because this is just a PPR, which is a practice survey, but I want to be able to present my information in a professional, know what I'm talking about kind of way. I've heard that he is a very nice man and really wants to teach and the good Lord knows that I am willing to learn how to make my job better in order to make patients in our hospital more safe because of the job I am doing.
Okay, well I'm fixing to head down there so wish me luck and I'll post how it went when I'm done!
WOOOOSAAAAAW!

Relaxing Weekend
This weekend was amazing!! I got caught up on some much needed sleep, hung out with famly, and on Saturday evening we went to Odessa to eat at the Barn Door. The Barn Door is super delicious and I wish I could eat there everyday!
Chance got sick on Sunday. He was achy all over, had a migraine, and his stomach was upset and guess what? I sure did catch it yesterday! UGH! It was horrible! I don't think my head and body has ever felt like that in my life! I don't know what it was, but I'm up at 4:30 this morning feeling peachy and headed to work out!
Oh, and it's official...my USB to my camera is officially missing and none at the house fit it! That's just annoying to me that there are so many different kinds of USB cords and one cord won't fit something else so you have to go buy a whole new one. Anyways, I better get going so I can workk off some of these pounds.

Almost the weekend!
These last couple of weeks have been SO long, SO busy, and and I'm SO ready for this weekend! Hopefully I'll be able to get some things done around the house, be lazy, and hang out with Shaylee, maybe watch a couple of movies that have come out. Speaking of movies, I watched Couples Retreat last night and et was a pretty funny movie with a good ending. I love those mushy movies that make you feel all good inside at the end! LOL! Some of my favorite movies that I'm sure Chance cringes every time I say I want to watch them are 50 First Dates, Good Luck Chuck, Fools Gold, and now Couples Retreat. I know there is more, and I'm thinking that there is a trend of movies that have something to do with the ocean, at least 3 of out of the 4 do. Maybe a trip to the ocean just sounds too good to be true in this cold, dreary weather that we have been having lately. There is nothing that the ocean and a nice umbrella drink can't fix! LOL!
Chance and I had a movie night last Friday, and you can tell when you are getting old when you can't stay up past 11:00 for a movie night and are both ready to go to bed. Saturday, Cindy picked up Shaylee to stay the night and we went to San Angelo so Chance could put injectors in, his friend, John's truck. While the guys were working, the girls went into town and did a little bit of shopping and went to Buffalo Wild Wings to have a drink. We decided that we had wasted enough time and went back, but of course the guys were still out there working their little booty's off. The girls were all starving and decided that it would be a good idea to go ahead and get everyone a table at Henry's and I haven't had Henry's in forever and ended up filling up on chips and dip. Then we headed off to Midnight Rodeo. That was the first time I have ever been in there, and it is such a blast! We danced the night away and had a great time! Sunday we were so excited to see our little Shaylee baby and we also had a couple of people over to eat chilli and watch the Super Bowl. Even though there was really only one person that was really interested in the Super Bowl, we still had a great time.
I feel so blessed everyday to have such a great family and the best husband and sweetest daughter I could ever even imagine!
