Some Christmas pics

Wild Hog in the Front Yard??!!!!

Yep, you read that right!! Let me just tell you the story of the most redneck night ever!! Chance and I were headed out to The Firehouse to eat some supper and when we walked out of the door, we noticed there were three huge things in the corner of our yard, eating all the pecans. Last weekend my brother had called us to tell us that we had wild hogs in our front yard and asked if he could shoot them, but before he was able to they ran off. Chance had a pretty good idea that they were hogs and we snuck back in the house so that we wouldn't scare them off and got Garrett's spot light from his room and Chance got his gun. After he got the pig, Tyler had to come over to help load it up and after eating supper, we took it over to Tyler's to let the guys do all the dirty work. After calling around to all the people that Chance knew of, they decided that the hog was good to eat and that we are going to have a redneck hog cook in our backyard (redneck attire is required). LOL! How random of a night is that?

Hmm... maybe he ate too many Christmas cookies this year! Blake is in the background thinking the same thing! LOL! Tyler had to dig out coveralls and coats for everyone to wear since it was SO cold outside, but he sure did look the most warm out of all of them.

P.S. I will have other food besides the wild hog, just in case!

Is Christmas Over Yet??

I said in my last post that I was really in the Christmas spirit and I have to say that I am all Christmased out right about now! LOL! I'm just ready for it to be over with!

The Christmas with a Cause Party had a pretty good turnout and we raised $267, or close to that, for our family. We got to go shopping and bought the boy a skateboard with a helmet and pads and some clothes and we got the girls each a bratz doll and some clothes. We also got some DVDs, CDs, and a game for them to play and watch together. I hope their Christmas is everything they hoped it would be. I am happy to report that when I dropped the toys off there were about 3 rows of bicycles lined up from one side of the room to the other at the Salvation Army.

I can't remember if I have posted or not about us finally getting around to remodeling our living room. Woohoo!! It looks SO good and now all we have to do is the little finishing touches here and there. We are thinking that we are going to tile over the wood floor that we refinished because it just didn't turn out the way we had planned. I'll have pics posted soon so that you guys can see what it looks like before and what it looks like now, HUGE difference!!! Funny thing is, our Christmas tree was up in the old pics so it has taken us a whole year to get around to doing the other half! LOL!

I hope that everyone has a safe Merry Christmas and an even better New Year!

Getting ready for the Christmas with a Cause Party!!

It's almost here!!! We are SO excited, but still have a lot of work to do. I really hope this party is a success and that we can give these children a Christmas that they deserve. The only thing I don't like about adopting a family from the Salvation Army is that we can't wrap the presents, and they really don't give us a whole lot of information about what the kids really like. The girls listed that they wanted CDs and DVDs, but I'm just really not sure what kind of CDs and DVDs they like or are wanting. I guess I was expecting for this to be a little bit more personal and maybe we could meet the family that we are helping and see their pretty little smiles, but it's all good!! LOL!!

So, we have all of Shaylee's Christmas shopping done! Whew, did we go crazy!! LOL! We just started seeing things and thought, "Oh, that would be so cute", and so it just got thrown in the basket and decided that next year, maybe I will make out a list beforehand so that I don't go all crazy again. LOL! Not only did we go crazy, but I keep thinking of other things that I really want to get her! We decided (I say we, but I decided LOL) that it would be fun to get Shaylee some presents that she could open on Christmas Eve like some new pajamas to wear to bed that night or a new Christmas movie or something like that. I'm just really in the Christmas spirit this year and absolutely love it!!
